I have worked in software engineering for roughly thirty years. Software is where much of my thinking starts, but the questions often lead outward into organisations, economics, politics and culture.

Much of my current attention is on AI-assisted software engineering: how capable models change engineering practice, organisations and the economics of building software.

This is my personal site.

Some of the work here grows out of client-facing engineering work. Other writing is exploratory and represents my own developing views.
